Recipe
Homestyle Salisbury Steak
Made with Country Girl Pantry Salisbury Steak Seasoning and Brown Gravy Mix
Yield: 4 servings
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 2 Tbsp Country Girl Pantry Salisbury Steak Seasoning
- 1 large egg
- 1 Tbsp cooking oil or butter, if needed
- 3 Tbsp Country Girl Pantry Brown Gravy Mix
- 1 cup cold water
Instructions
- Make the patties. In a bowl, combine the ground beef, Salisbury Steak Seasoning, and egg. Mix just until combined. Divide into 4 portions and shape into oval patties.
- Brown the steaks. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add a little oil or butter if needed. Cook the patties for about 4 to 5 minutes per side, until well browned. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- Make the gravy. Whisk the Brown Gravy Mix with 1 cup cold water until smooth. Pour into the same skillet and scrape up the browned bits from the bottom.
- Finish cooking. Return the patties to the skillet. Bring the gravy to a gentle simmer, reduce heat, and cover. Cook about 10 to 15 minutes, stirring the gravy occasionally, until the patties reach 160 F in the center and the gravy is thick and smooth.
- Serve. Spoon the brown gravy generously over the Salisbury steaks.
