Recipe

Homestyle Salisbury Steak

Made with Country Girl Pantry Salisbury Steak Seasoning and Brown Gravy Mix

Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 Tbsp Country Girl Pantry Salisbury Steak Seasoning
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 Tbsp cooking oil or butter, if needed
  • 3 Tbsp Country Girl Pantry Brown Gravy Mix
  • 1 cup cold water

Instructions

  1. Make the patties. In a bowl, combine the ground beef, Salisbury Steak Seasoning, and egg. Mix just until combined. Divide into 4 portions and shape into oval patties.
  2. Brown the steaks. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add a little oil or butter if needed. Cook the patties for about 4 to 5 minutes per side, until well browned. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Make the gravy. Whisk the Brown Gravy Mix with 1 cup cold water until smooth. Pour into the same skillet and scrape up the browned bits from the bottom.
  4. Finish cooking. Return the patties to the skillet. Bring the gravy to a gentle simmer, reduce heat, and cover. Cook about 10 to 15 minutes, stirring the gravy occasionally, until the patties reach 160 F in the center and the gravy is thick and smooth.
  5. Serve. Spoon the brown gravy generously over the Salisbury steaks.
